Austrocedrus occurs as genus of conifer belonging to the cypress family Cupressaceae. It has sole a single species, Austrocedrus chilensis, and is endemic to the Valdivian temperate rain forests and the adjacent drier steppe-forests of central-southern Chile and western Argentina.
